Anne Edwards, MD, FAAPChaired by Anne Edwards, MD, the purpose of the nominating committee is to nominate individuals for awards and service on the board. It is made up of board members and chaired by the past president. The nominating committee accepts and reviews nominations for:

1. New board members
2. The president elect
3. Awards (reviewing and selecting the winners)

Nominations for open Board positions are solicited in the April all-member email and at the April Board meeting. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact cairns@mnaap.org for more information about the 3-5 positions that are open each year.

Distinguished Service Award
Each year the MN-AAP recognizes a pediatrician for his or her outstanding efforts that contribute to the improvement of child health care. This is really the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for the pediatrician who has dedicated his or her life to improving care for children throughout the state of Minnesota.

Nomination Form: Distinguished Service Award (due May 1 each year)

Child Advocacy Award
In addition, MN-AAP chooses an individual from the community who goes above and beyond his or her everyday routine to advocate for the health and welfare of children in Minnesota. Past recipients include Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (2008) and Brynn Duncan and her family, who helped pass booster seat legislation (2009).
