Physicians Speak Up about Gun Violence

November 16, 2018

In response to the recent NRA statement that “Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane,” many physicians have signed petitions, written letters to the editor and used social media to draw attention to the vital role they play in reducing gun violence.

Check out a letter to the Washington Post from MNAAP Board Member Rachel Tellez, MD. Additionally, check out messages on social media from physicians and other health professionals with #thisisourlane

A number of MNAAP members cited gun violence as their top policy concern in the chapter’s recent all-member survey. The chapter will continue to monitor legislation at the state and federal level and advocate for policies that reduce gun violence.
