The American Academy of Pediatrics joined with several national education organizations to release a statement that affirms, “Returning to school is important for the healthy development and well-being of children, but we must pursue re-opening in a way that is safe for all students, teachers and staff.”
The Minnesota Department of Education is expected to release guidance for Minnesota schools on or around July 27. In the meantime, MNAAP has offered to be a resource as these discussions take place and is drafting its own statement based on local metrics.
MNAAP’s Board of Directors will discuss this topic in more detail at its upcoming July 22 Board meeting, where AAP President-Elect Lee Savio Beers, MD, FAAP will be a guest.
MNAAP members are invited to submit comments on return to school for consideration to Executive Director Melissa DeBilzan at email@example.com. Additio
