- The first of a series of changes to the state’s child protection system cleared the House floor on a unanimous vote in late February and is headed to the Senate for its consideration. The bill changes the public policy statement governing the child protection system by re-orientating statute more squarely towards the protection of the child as a central focus.
- It’s not too late to make plans to attend the 2015 Pediatrician’s Day at the Capitol set for March 18, 2015. This important event is one of the key pieces of our advocacy effort, and your participation is important and impactful. Visit the MNAAP’s website for more information and to register.
- The MNAAP’s executive committee voted unanimously to join a broad legislative effort to reform prior authorization, which would ensure children have timely and ongoing access to appropriate medications. Under the bipartisan bills, additional disclosure and transparency would be required in the PA process, and limits on abrupt formulary changes would be enacted.
